Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, step right up – NixDamnP! has done did it again.
In a collaborative effort to add the crucial finishing touches to the masterpiece of Sassa Jimenez’ Spring/Summer 2012 Collection, Circus Belle, NixDamnP! combines two of his greatest skills– his ability to tell stories through his ingenious music selection, and his aptitude for facilitating the transfer of energy to his audience.
For this collection, Jimenez’ marching orders were simple. “I wanted a completely different kind of energy, coming from a completely different direction to give the collection the big jolt of electricity that it needed. I wanted music that was a bit indistinct and not mainstream. I needed that NixDamnP! mood in the room….”
And so NixDamnP! delivered, and he delivered damn well. In his mastermix, NixDamnP! takes full control as he turns his own vision for the piece into a reality. He complements and contrasts the visual experience of Jimenez’ playful, runaway circus concept with an eclectic mix of genres – from house and electronic to new age, dance and indie pop.
The result is pleasant surprise by NixDamnP! as he heightens the experience of being in the midst of a circus on so many levels, adding texture to the show as a whole. It is whimsical, yet hard-hitting and electrifying; playful and innocent, yet hypnotizing and somehow eerily beckoning; light and fluffy, and yet mysterious, leaving one feeling as if they were being lured into running away with the circus…
